Welcome to The Hurlingham Academy

I hope this website will give you a sense of what makes us an Outstanding school (Ofsted 2024). I am incredibly proud to be the Principal at The Hurlingham Academy; a place where students thrive academically and socially in an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance and diversity. 

Our academic approach is for every student in every lesson to enjoy learning.  We strive to ensure that our teaching standards are high, and children feel safe and supported in school. Lessons follow a knowledge-rich and rigorous curriculum. This learning environment has produced our best GCSE results ever.

The Hurlingham Academy is a close-knit school community that learns together, has fun together and continues on a journey towards all-around excellence.

Last term, 70 of our Year 9 students travelled to France and Belgium to experience history beyond the classroom. The trip began with visits to WW1 memorials, followed by an evening in the historic town of Ypres. To conclude the visit, students explored the underground tunnels dug by Canadian soldiers to get behind German lines. Our Year 10 students made a visit to the Bomb Factory to learn about materiality & the process of fabric dyeing. This experience will build upon their expressive portraits classwork, helping them to understand & demonstrate the application of formal elements.
